The summer festival LAC en plein air is back, celebrating its ninth anniversary with a new format divided into two distinct sections, each curated by a different team in keeping with the LAC’s artistic vision. From 26 June to 4 July, six evenings curated by Saul Beretta, who once again charts a course through jazz, blues and world music, taking us on an imaginary journey through Italy and Brazil. From 21 to 30 August, the programme curated by ethnomusicologist Johannes Rühl – “Foehn” – explores the relationship between folk music, the Alpine region and the transalpine space, paying particular attention to contemporary forms of Neue Volkmusik, featuring Swiss artists and projects. The programme is further enriched and rounded off with a number of events aimed at strengthening dialogue with the cultural communities of the local area.
